My son lays flat, does not move and uses many machines. I was uncomfortable sending him to school due to his needs and physical restrictions. He was doing homebound schooling through the public school when I heard about ESA. It sounded like a wonderful opportunity.
My son has been on ESA this past year and it has been a great experience. We have a special needs teacher come to our home however many days or hours we would like. It is so great that we can choose the schedule and not have it chosen for us.
We can pick the curriculum and any activities that would be best suited for my son. We can also have physical or occupational therapy come to our home which wasn’t available to us before ESA. There are so many more options available to us and I am more involved in choosing what is best for my son’s unique needs.
