As a single mom, the Opportunity Scholarship made it possible for me to send my son to a private Christian school where he wouldn’t have otherwise been able to attend. I chose private school for my son mainly because I want to raise my son in partnership with his educators with a Biblical world view in an environment that allows the students to pray, worship, and read the Bible. Secondly, I believe that a smaller teacher to student ratio gives my son a better chance of being given more time with his teachers to be mentored.
Being able to have a choice in where I enrolled my son due to the opportunity scholarship was one of the greatest blessings I’ve had. My son is learning about God’s love throughout the week with his peers in an intimate class setting. His teachers and principal pray with him when he is struggling and it definitely makes a greater impact on him to strive to be a better student.
