I liked my old school but the kids were so mean. My brother kept getting bullied and was coming home with black eyes and bruises. The school never said anything.

One time my brother sent my mom a text saying that he was scared because his school was in lock down and there were police dogs and they wouldn’t say why. My mom called the school and they said it was a drill. My mom had enough. She wanted him out of the school and didn’t know how to do it. She found out about the voucher and we fortunately were selected for it.

“I used to struggle when I read. But not long after I started there I was reading chapter books.”

Since starting at Evergreen I have been so happy. I have a lot of friends and everyone is so nice. I used to struggle when I read. But not long after I started there I was reading chapter books. I was so excited to go to school everyday. I’ve learned so much, especially how to be a better person.

It’s not fair to tell a kid that he can’t go to a school because of money. I feel that all kids should be able to choose where they go to school.
