I had to change schools for my son this year after his last school lost its charter after Covid hit. In doing so, I had to research the different school options in our area. This year a new C-Stem school opened and is out of our school district so I have to drive him. Despite the drive, it’s the best choice I’ve made for him.

Being able to attend a school that’s not our assigned school has helped him since he would have had to go back to the school that he was severely bullied in the second grade.

I believe families should be able to choose their child’s school so that they are able to get the best education possible. I also think they should be able to choose based on programs for your child like sports, art, music, and general education lesson plans. I know for my child, and one of the most important things for him was having a solid IEP/special needs team as well as having a no-bullying policy due to past experiences.
