Trinity School is the only K-12 private institution in the OKC metro exclusively serving students with medically diagnosed learning differences. We see the transformative power of individualized education every day. Most of our students are referred by private, public, and non-traditional schools that recognize the breadth and depth of our specialized programs, which go beyond what most schools can offer. We deeply value these partnerships.
Students with conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia, mild/moderate autism spectrum disorder, and other learning disabilities often struggle in traditional school settings that are not equipped to meet their specialized needs. They may feel lost in large classrooms, overlooked by educators who don’t have the tools or time to provide individualized attention, or they may become frustrated by a curriculum that isn’t accessible to them. This can lead to a cycle of academic failure, low self-esteem, and anxiety about learning—conditions that no child should have to face.
When students join Trinity, they gain the confidence to succeed and begin thinking in new, empowering ways. Our students thrive in the nurturing environment we’ve spent over a decade cultivating. With tailored strategies, individualized accommodations, and a focus on self-advocacy, we create a learning space that genuinely supports their unique needs. Students are met where they are and held accountable. They are also resilient, resourceful, and talented, excelling across sports, academics, arts, music, and digital media. After graduation, they pursue career tech programs, attend universities, enter the workforce, or join life skills programs that set them up for lifelong success. This is the expectation—and most rise to meet it.
This is where school choice becomes vital. It allows families to choose a school like ours that provides specialized support and instruction in a nurturing, adaptive environment. We have seen countless students who entered our school discouraged and disengaged blossom into confident, capable learners.
One of our students, Ansley, came to Trinity with dyslexia and dysgraphia. She was in fourth-grade reading at a Kindergarten level. The work her parents showed us at her previous school included an assignment where she had written, “I am an idiot; I am stupid.” After a few short weeks at Trinity, her academic progress had skyrocketed, and her whole demeanor changed. She’s now in sixth grade and becoming who she was meant to be. Over the past decade, we’ve been a part of hundreds of stories like this one.
Kristina, who faced challenges due to ADHD and sensory processing disorder, was struggling when she came to Trinity. In a traditional school, Kristina was constantly told to “focus” and “pay attention” without understanding the underlying issues that made it difficult for her to concentrate. When she joined our program, we adapted her learning environment, offering sensory breaks and individualized support. Today, Kristina excels academically through our specialized programs.
Nathan is a standout example of resilience and achievement. Despite challenges with dyslexia and executive functioning throughout his schooling, he developed strong academic and organizational skills that led him to apply to the Construction Sciences program at Metro Technology Center. Not only did Nathan graduate, but he was also named Student of the Year in his program and invited back to speak to the incoming class. He earned a prestigious internship at Van Hoose Construction and is now continuing his education at OSU. Nathan exemplifies what it means to meet students where they are, provide the support they need, and equip them for lasting success.
School choice empowers families to make decisions based on their children’s needs. In a system where traditional schools may be unable to provide the level of intervention that students with learning differences require, having the option to choose a specialized school like ours is not just beneficial—it’s life-changing.
Students like Ansley, Kristina, and Nathan thrive today because their families chose Trinity. Their success highlights the critical importance of school choice, especially for students with medically diagnosed learning differences who require a specialized curriculum, tools, and environment. For neurodiverse learners, attending a school like Trinity can be the difference between struggle and success. We invest in a highly specialized staff—including certified academic language therapists, licensed counselors, psychometrists, and speech-language pathologists—providing the individualized support each student needs. With over 40 certified professionals, smaller class sizes, and multi-sensory programs, we deliver the personalized education our students deserve. However, meeting these needs comes with higher tuition, which can financially challenge families.
Nearly 70% of our students receive Lindsey Nicole Henry scholarships and over half benefit from the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit. We also participate in the Opportunity Scholarship Fund, providing additional aid to families who need it. These programs are game-changers, enabling families who hadn’t planned for private education to access the support their students need. That’s why Oklahoma’s school choice programs are essential in helping Trinity’s families access private education.
