PROGRAM — Academy of Math and Science

My name is Larenz. I’m 13 years old. I’m very outgoing, active and would like to play professional football one day. Next year I will be attending high school. I’m the oldest boy of six.

I like going to my new charter school more than public school because I’ve had more academic opportunities, like learning Mandarin, Chinese, or Arabic as a second language. Those are just a few choices we have had this year. I’m a fast learner and I hope to exceed in online learning. Because of the pandemic, I’m learning all the basics on the Chromebooks this year, but I’m thankful for my school choice program and what I have learned so far.

School choice has made a difference for our family because we have a big family and the program has helped my siblings and I get into our current charter school. I believe more families should have school choice available to them because sometimes everyone can use a little help and we never know what someones going through. A home with a big family like ours during a pandemic needs all the help they can get.

“To me school choice means helping families, who aren’t always aware that there is help, so that they can send their children to the best school possible.”

To me school choice means helping families, who aren’t always aware that there is help, so that they can send their children to the best school possible. It means giving them the best education possible, sometimes for big families like ours sometimes that’s very hard to do. I’m thankful.
