My name is Julia Manzano. I am 14 years old and I am a freshman at Mountain View Christian School. From kindergarten up until 5th grade, I attended a public school. In my sixth grade year, I switched to a private school.
I did not realize it then, but the school I had been attending was not a good school. The teachers there did very little to help me when I struggled with just about anything. The classrooms were very large making it hard to keep up with the pace of the class. Unfortunately, many of the students at my old public school had been held back.
The school that I now attend is very different. The teachers here help me and support me whenever I am struggling. The students here are able to learn at their own pace due to the fact that the classroom sizes are much smaller. At this school, I am able to grow with my classmates instead of getting left behind. I have made new friends and will hopefully make even more in the future.
I am so grateful for the opportunity of being able to attend a private school. I believe that all families should be given this opportunity to attend a better school. Every kid deserves a school where they will be able to benefit from better opportunities; a school that won’t shrug their shoulders whenever they don’t understand something. All kids deserve a school that will help them make progress and secure a brighter future; a school where they will be able to grow and reach their full potential. All families should be able to choose the right school for their kids.
