Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is the best thing that has happened to me. I love and appreciate my teachers and the staff because of all of the support that has been given to me throughout my high school years. This was by far the best opportunity for me, and my family is very proud of what I have been able to accomplish.

It was instilled in me that education is very important for the life that I want. My grades have been exceptional because of the work that I have put in along with the support from my teachers and staff at Cristo Rey. I did attend a public school in Milwaukee, and it is a completely different environment. Students at my school want to learn. Teachers enjoy teaching also. It has not always been easy, and the challenges at Cristo Rey are real but with discipline and focus, I will successfully obtain my high school diploma with honors. I feel that I have been prepared because of the academic course load and the corporate work-study program. The work program has provided me with skills that many of my friends from public schools were not able to gain.

My parents are not wealthy and were not in a position to pay for private school education. However, with the Milwaukee Parental Choice program, I was able to receive a voucher that covered my cost to attend Cristo Rey. This was huge for my family and me to be able to attend a private school that reflected our values. Other families should be afforded the same opportunity and send their children to any school that will prepare them for life after high school.

Overall, it has been an incredible experience for me at Cristo Rey, and none of this would have been possible without the choice program. I have a bright future because of family and school values and looking forward to making my selection of which college or university that I will be attending after graduation.
