Announcing the 2023 AFC Future Leaders Fellowship Cohort
The American Federation for Children is pleased to announce our 2023 Future Leaders Fellowship cohort. This twelve-month advocacy training program is for graduates of publicly created K-12 school choice programs and is designed to identify and develop tomorrow’s leaders in the school choice movement. This marks our fourth cohort of the Fellowship program, which launched in 2019.
This year’s cohort features ten students who hail from seven states, with private and charter school backgrounds. These dynamic young leaders are on their way to achieving great things and have already been directly involved in school choice efforts in their respective states, most recently in Iowa during the run-up to the successful passage of its universal ESA.
Throughout National School Choice Week, last week, and next week, our Fellows will have made a difference from coast to coast, including:
- Testifying at official legislative hearings: 8 Fellows across 4 states
- Appearing at public events: 12 Fellows across 6 states
- Appearing or published in media: 3 Fellows across 3 states, with more interviews to be published soon
We are confident the 2023 cohort will join previous cohorts in becoming tomorrow’s leaders in the school choice movement, and we are proud to support and work alongside them.
