AFC Urges New Hampshire Families to Apply for Education Freedom Accounts for 2026–2027 School Year
DALLAS, Texas — Applications are now open for New Hampshire’s Education Freedom Accounts (EFAs) for the 2026–2027 school year, offering families across the state the opportunity to access flexible education funding and expanded learning options. AFC encourages eligible families to apply early, as demand has outpaced available seats in recent years.

This year’s application window opened March 16 amid recent program expansion and the launch of a new online application system. The EFA program, administered by the Children’s Scholarship Fund New Hampshire, allows eligible families to use state education funds for a wide range of approved expenses, including private school tuition, tutoring, curriculum, and other education-related expenses.
The EFA program is open to eligible students ages 5 to 20 who reside in the state. Priority access is given to families at or below 350 percent of the federal poverty level, current EFA participants, siblings of EFA participants, and students with special needs. Families outside these groups may be placed on a waitlist if demand exceeds available space.
New Hampshire’s EFA program provides families with access to state education funds that can be customized to meet each child’s unique needs, whether through private school enrollment, specialized instruction, or alternative learning environments.
Statement from Bill Phillips, National Director of Government Affairs, American Federation for Children:
“New Hampshire’s Education Freedom Account program continues to demonstrate what’s possible when states put families and students first. By empowering parents with the resources and flexibility to choose the best educational environment for their children, EFAs are helping more students succeed. We strongly encourage all eligible families to apply as soon as possible to ensure they can take advantage of this opportunity.”
