I am a freshwoman at Xavier College Preparatory, where I am taking classes like dance, English, and Honors Spanish II as a heritage speaker.
I choose to go to Xavier College Preparatory because I was excited to take several electives and clubs. I was also drawn to the school because of their theology classes and how they help us think outside of the box. Theology class has always drawn my attention because not only does it help me pursue my Catholic faith but it helps me understand different elements of faith. Some of the other classes that I take like world history help me prepare and practice my note-taking skills.
Overall I have endured many different experiences from a private school and a charter school. As someone who has attended both types of schools, I will say that diversity and school participation play key roles. In a private school, there are more requirements like service hours, when in other schools I never had to do anything like that.

As a student who is attending a private school, I believe that families should receive more opportunities to take their children to the school that they choose. They obviously have a choice because it’s their high school experience and legacy and at a private school provides many opportunities are available.
