To qualify for a Voices for Choice contest, entrants must be 13 years of age or older, be attending or have graduated from a private K-12 school, and have received a publicly funded or needs based scholarship to attend that school.

Parents or guardians of children who attend or who have attended a private K-12 school and who received a publicly funded or needs based scholarship may also submit a story. In that case, the prize will be in the parent or guardian’s name.

The monthly winner must have submitted his or her story before December 31, 2018 and in the same week or month as the contest is promoted. For instance, only submissions from October are eligible for the October monthly prize.

Winners of the weekly Twitter prize must also submit a story here: within two weeks of winning the contest.

The contest winners are selected by the American Federation for Children staff.

By submitting a story, entrants agree that the American Federation for Children can use and publish any and all submitted story content.

The American Federation for Children reserves the right to verify contestant eligibility after announcing a winner. Any misrepresentation will result in disqualification and no prize will be awarded. In instances where more than one prize option is advertised, the default prize will be cash and a check will be mailed to the contestant winner within 60 days of notification.
