PROGRAM — Nevada Opportunity Scholarship

I originally found out about the Opportunity Scholarship from my son’s school director. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect because we had found out that tuition had gone up and I couldn’t afford that extra amount. We filled out the application for the scholarship, received it and I was so happy because my son could continue to attend his private school.

My son is able to develop his abilities in private school. In public school, he doesn’t have that chance. In public schools, the teachers don’t give enough attention to the students because there are just too many students. One of my worst fears if my son has to go to public school is that he will be bullied. He’s very introverted and doesn’t know how to socialize. But in his private school, he doesn’t seem to have any problems making friends.

The public schools in the area where I live are not good. The kids that attend these schools aren’t advancing and their behavior shows it. But in a private school, the attention is different. Public school is not an option for my son, period.

Unfortunately, we lost the Opportunity Scholarship this year. We tried to look at other private schools to try and accommodate the price, but we just love our current school so much. We enrolled him in his current school this year and I honestly didn’t know where the money would come from, but I believed that God will provide. We were very fortunate to recover our scholarship and now my son is continuing to thrive in his school.
