Sharon Chavez serves as the Communications and Strategic Initiatives Associate for the Communications and Implementations team at the American Federation for Children with a focus on our Hispanic Strategic Initiative. She is also a member of the 2022 Future Leaders Fellows Cohort.

Sharon gained the experience of attending both public and private education which was made possible through the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program. She is a proud graduate of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee and Marquette University, where she graduated with a double major and double minor in corporate communications, Spanish with concentrations in business, business administration and advertising.

School choice changed Sharon’s life, opening doors and giving her a new found love for education. Now she is focused on advocating for those in her community to have the same opportunities and resources to access a proper education, just as she did.
