Lindsey Rust serves as Senior Director of State Investments, coordinating AFC’s efforts around state investment strategy and providing operational and strategic support to the Government Affairs team with a goal of increasing organizational effectiveness. Lindsey also manages AFC in-state grant partners and continues to provide support on the organization’s policy implementation work.
Lindsey formerly served as AFC’s National Implementation Director, leading in-state efforts to connect families with opportunities to participate in school choice programs and attend schools that best meet their needs.
She previously served as Executive Director of School Choice Indiana, a state based advocacy group based in Indianapolis. She also previously worked with charter schools in Indiana and served as a Teach For America corps member teaching special education students in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Lindsey received her Bachelor’s in Public Administration from Indiana University and her Master’s in Education from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
