Katie Linehan is the Vice President of Communications and Development for the American Federation for Children. She was previously the National Director of Communications & Marketing and before that, the Director of External Relations for AFC.

Witnessing the effects of school choice in New Orleans and Washington D.C., Katie’s interest in expanding educational opportunity for low-income children brought her back to her home state in 2011. She worked for educational non-profit organizations serving children in North and South Omaha and as a legislative aide for the Vice Chair of the Education Committee in the Nebraska Legislature before moving to New York City to work as a teacher at Success Academy Charter School in Harlem. In 2015, Katie launched a statewide organization dedicated to improving the quality of education for all children in Nebraska. She has also served as an advisor to policymakers at the local, state, and federal level regarding K-12 education and school choice.

Katie earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University New Orleans and her law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
