Muna Olaniyi is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Empower Memphis Career and College Prep, a first-of-its-kind career and technical education elementary school set to launch in Memphis, TN during the 2024-2025 school year. Despite facing multiple challenges throughout her upbringing in various locations within the Washington DC area—including poverty, English Language Learner (ELL) status, caring for a disabled sibling, and the looming threat of deportation—Muna triumphed over adversity. Drawing on her childhood experiences, she is committed to providing students and families with the same career exploration opportunities that shaped her educational journey.
Muna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction/Administration.
She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education Leadership. Muna is a dedicated member of several prestigious educational organizations, including New Leaders, New Memphis, and Build. Excel. Sustain (BES).
