My name is Meredith Cameron. I am the mother of four beautiful children and the wife of my amazing husband. The ESA scholarship has given me, as a parent, peace in my heart, knowing that my children are being taught in a safe environment with like-minded people who believe the way we believe.
The scholarship has opened up a whole new world of opportunity for my children as they get older and all attend school—options that we wouldn’t be able to afford on our own. My son Caleb is currently attending , Lighthouse Christian School, which he loves. But I have recently discovered that we are also allowed to homeschool with our scholarship. To say I am excited to go down this journey with my children is an understatement.
Deuteronomy 6:7 says, “And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” It is my calling to teach my children, and without the ESA scholarship, I do not know if I would be able to have this opportunity.
I thank everyone who has played a part in giving our children the chance at the education they deserve. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” And train them up I shall, for the glory of God, who blessed me with my children.
Regardless of income or beliefs, all parents should have the right to choose the best schooling for their children. There are many stories, reasons, and hurdles that can prevent a family from receiving the education they deserve. One missed opportunity can create a ripple effect across an entire generation of children and families. We are seeing firsthand what that ripple effect can create.
ESA throws a rock into that ripple. It is the beginning of change for so many children and their families. Having the opportunity to choose the right education that fits their lifestyle changes our future for the better.
