After she struggled in public school, Amanda Lash discovered the perfect fit for her daughter at Trinity School at Edgemere. Trinity is a private school that educates students with learning differences, each according to their specific needs, in a supportive and encouraging environment. Most students are supported by Oklahoma’s school choice programs, including the Lindsey Nicole Henry Scholarship, Equal Opportunity Scholarships and the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit.

Austin started kindergarten in Texas before we moved to Oklahoma. We moved for my husband’s job. She started first grade in public school here in Oklahoma. When we moved here, we were really excited to land where we did. We had researched schools and we got into a great school district. She loved her teachers. Everything was going great, but she was really struggling with a lot of the basic reading.
We came to realize that Austin probably faced dyslexia challenges and some ADHD.
It took a very long time to get public school to come in and test her for that. But once she did, we realized she wasn’t getting what she needed in the public school. So, I reached out to a good friend and she directed us to look into Trinity School at Edgemere.
My husband and I decided, without really knowing about scholarship opportunities and tax credit opportunities, that we would do whatever we had to do to be able to get Austin into Trinity.
I get emotional just thinking about where she would be right now had we not taken the steps to pursue finding an opportunity to bring her here. We would be looking at a different child. The main differences I notice after coming to Trinity is Austin’s confidence level, how much happier she is each day she comes home.
My favorite part about Trinity is how many kind people and teachers there are here. Trinity is really great, and it’s helped me so much. I’m glad we found it. – Austin
