As the U.S. House Passes Budget, Over 1,000 Faith Leaders Urge Congress to Prioritize K-12 Students, Include School Choice
With the U.S. House approving the budget resolution and budget reconciliation work set to accelerate, the American Federation for Children (AFC) announces a broad coalition of faith leaders from across the nation urging Congress to bring school choice nationwide by advancing the Educational Choice for Children Act. In a newly published letter, 1,150 faith leaders call on Congress to prioritize children and families.
Co-signers include Black Pastors United for Education (BPUE) Founder, Senior Pastor of The Rock Church of Harrisburg, PA and McLeod Society Fellow the Rev. Joshua C. Robertson, who alongside faith leaders and pastors from across the nation—are all calling on Congress to pass school choice for every state.
The coalition letter, available HERE, highlights the urgency of the cause, saying: “These children who are stuck in an educational environment that doesn’t meet their needs cannot wait another year or five years or ten years for systemic change.”
