Mi hijo tiene 13 años. Este año empieza una nueva jornada en una escuela chárter con un plan de estudios especiales, algo que habíamos estado buscando por mucho tiempo. El estuvo su vida escolar en escuelas públicas donde no recibió ayuda, ni nunca fue identificado ni evaluado como especial. Por esta razón llegué buscando ayuda en una escuela diferente a lo que nosotros conocíamos. Nos ayudaron a encontar mas opciones y así llegamos a una escuela chárter. Con mucha fe espero este nuevo comienzo y llenos de esperanza.
Todos los niños son diferentes, no todos se ajustan a los sistemas educativos tradicionales. Sin importar el nivel socioeconómico de la familia, todos los niños tienen el derecho de recibir una buena educación para que tengan un buen futuro en su vida profesional. Para esto se ocupa apoyo y una educación adecuada para cada niño. Ya sea por valores familiares, fe o educación especial, estas ayudas no se deberían de esconder y deberían estar al alcance de todos, especialmente si ayudan a familias de bajos recursos.
