We are so very thankful for the vouchers for our five children. We have five adopted children and two biological children who have very different needs. Our oldest is in college and our youngest is in preschool and so we use the vouchers for the five in the middle. We are at two different schools because our kids have different needs educationally and emotionally and socially and we are so grateful that we can afford to put our kids where their needs are best met.
We will forever be grateful for the opportunity for these vouchers and everyone who worked tirelessly to bring them to us as well as every lawmaker who voted yes on them.
Because every child is so very different. Our adopted children have different needs educationally because of different backgrounds, pregnancy trauma and life experiences which have altered their brains to have very specific needs. We have kids with sexual abuse, kids with drug exposure, and kids with domestic violence trauma. These experiences have required us as parents to be very careful about who surrounds our children. We homeschooled for seven years and are now grateful to move to private schools because the public schools were not a good fit for our kids.
