I attend Saint Raymond High School for Boys in the Bronx, New York. The teachers are wonderful, sweet, and kind, and they go above and beyond to ensure that all students are learning each subject. The school environment is safe, with security guards and cameras everywhere. We are also taught religion, including lessons about God, discipline, responsibility, and how to grow into successful young men.
None of this would be possible without the Children’s Scholarship Fund. My father died when I was four years old, and my mother has had to take care of both me and my grandmother. She has so many responsibilities and cannot afford to pay my tuition. I would not be able to attend a private or Catholic school if it weren’t for the Children’s Scholarship Fund. I am incredibly grateful for these scholarships and thank God every day for them.
Children are innocent beings who had no say in their conception. Therefore, they should not be punished because of the financial status of their families or home situations. They should be given the opportunity to become the best versions of themselves. Receiving this scholarship gives me hope. It allows me to get the best possible quality of education, improve my academic performance, and have greater opportunities for college and career success. I dream of becoming a successful doctor in the future.
