Hera Varmah is the Communications and Events Assistant at The American Federation for Children. Before joining AFC fulltime, Hera was a member of the 2020 Future Leaders Fellowship Cohort.
Hera was a Florida tax-credit scholarship recipient and received her bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology from Florida A&M University. When realizing that every child in this country did not have the same opportunity that was given to her, she changed her career path and began working in education reform. Hera has shared her story with advocates, legislators, and the public at events and panels across the country.
