Hera is Grassroots Engagement Manager at Step Up For Students, having previously served as External Relations Associate at AFC and as a member of the 2020 Future Leaders Fellowship cohort. A compelling leader, Hera has quickly become a prominent voice in the movement and a testament to the power of school choice.

Hera was a Florida tax-credit scholarship recipient and received her bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology from Florida A&M University. When realizing that every child in this country did not have the same opportunity that was given to her, she changed her career path and began working in education reform. Hera has shared her story with advocates, legislators, and the public at events and panels across the country.
