American Federation for Children Applauds Governor Ayotte’s Leadership on School Choice
DALLAS, TX – The American Federation for Children (AFC) applauds New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte for her continued leadership advancing school choice upon delivering her State of the State address Thursday morning.
“Last year, we expanded opportunities for families with universal education freedom, giving more kids the opportunity to succeed in the learning environment that works best for them,” Governor Ayotte said, highlighting the crucial work of empowering New Hampshire families to select the educational setting in which their children will thrive.
Governor Ayotte and Republican majorities in the legislature joined 16 other states by making all students eligible for their respective state’s school choice program. The historic expansion of New Hampshire’s Education Freedom Account (EFA) program opened the door for thousands of families to access high-quality education options tailored to their children.
Adding wins upon wins for New Hampshire families, just last week, Governor Ayotte announced that the state will opt into the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC), established last summer when President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill. The EFTC creates even more opportunities for families to choose the educational pathways that work best for them.
