AFC Spokesperson Walter Blanks Jr. to Testify to Congress
The American Federation for Children (AFC) is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, March 11, at 10:15am, school choice beneficiary and AFC spokesperson Walter Blanks Jr. will testify before the House Committee on Education and Workforce’s Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education. At the hearing, “Education Without Limits: Exploring the Benefits of School Choice,” he will share unique firsthand insights into how Ohio school choice affected his educational journey. Blanks, who visited the White House in 2019 to share his story with President Trump, will discuss how Congress can act to expand this opportunity to every state with the Educational Choice for Children Act.
Statement from Walter Blanks Jr., AFC Spokesperson
“School choice saved my life and offered me the chance to learn in a safe environment, break cycles of poverty, and achieve things I could have never imagined otherwise. I never thought a kid like me would be standing in the White House discussing my story with President Trump or sitting in front of Congress sharing it this week. I am grateful to the Committee for inviting me to discuss why I am so committed to fighting for every child to have that same chance I had. I call on every member of Congress to stand with me and advance school choice in every state.”
