AFC Praises Alabama Legislature for Passing CHOOSE Act
The American Federation for Children applauds Gov. Kay Ivey and the Alabama Legislature for advancing educational opportunity by passing the CHOOSE Act. This landmark legislation would substantially increase education opportunity in the state. The $100 million program, which will ultimately be available for all families, allows families to direct a portion of their education tax dollars to private or home education or other education expenses.
Statement from Ryan Cantrell, VP of Government Relations, American Federation for Children:
“Today’s victory is proof that the era of school choice continues across the nation. Alabama families can look forward to boundless new possibilities to direct their children’s education, and we appreciate the steadfast support of Governor Ivey and the legislature in advancing this critical legislation.”
