AFC Announces Launch of Affiliated National SGO, “AFC Scholarship Fund”
Dallas, TX – The American Federation for Children and Odyssey are pleased to announce the official launch of the AFC Scholarship Fund, a national scholarship granting organization (SGO) with over $10 million in generous funding secured for the ambitious national awareness campaign necessary to make the federal scholarship tax credit (FSTC) a success.
This national SGO will build upon AFC’s work to empower parents and advance school choice. Odyssey’s parent-centered, purpose-built infrastructure dovetails perfectly with our mission. Importantly, this will be available to serve as a platform for schools and scholarship granting organizations to utilize for expanded scholarship operations.
Beginning in 2026, AFC Scholarship Fund will aggressively build out a fundraising and user base that will ensure the FSTC serves as many children as possible, as quickly as possible, especially those who need it most.
Statement from Tommy Schultz, CEO, American Federation for Children
“The future of American education is here. The first national school choice law is a hard-won victory and a moment of immense opportunity. School choice works, and so must its greatest-ever opportunity to go national. We’re taking on this venture on behalf of the education reform movement and parents nationwide. We aim to create and support the conditions for success across the country, just as we have done across more than 30 states so far.
For decades, AFC and our affiliates have been the strongest voice for parents in states across America. Now, we are partnering with Odyssey to ensure every student in every state can access education freedom as soon and seamlessly as possible.”
Statement from Joseph Connor, Founder and CEO of Odyssey
“Odyssey has built the technology and infrastructure that make school choice work at scale, and we are thrilled to partner with the AFC Scholarship Fund to bring this solution nationwide. As the nation’s only automated, end-to-end school choice platform, we annually support the facilitation of more than $1.6 billion in school choice funding and ESA programs, including the new Texas Education Freedom Account program launching in February.
Together, we aim to be relentlessly parent-focused and dedicated to ensuring that the new federal scholarship tax credit serves as many kids as possible, as quickly as possible, in every state.”
