Education has always been important in my life, but my time at Cristo Rey taught me that a school can be more than just a place where you learn. It can be a community, a safe space, a place to grow, and even a second home.
Growing up, my mother instilled in me at a very young age that education was very important. This is why, when it came to choosing a high school, the quality of education I would receive played an important role. I remember talking to an administrator about Cristo Rey at a high school fair, and I was instantly drawn to their Corporate Work Study Program and their mission of providing students with a quality education.
Throughout my time at Cristo Rey, I did more than gain a quality education; I also gained work experience, networking skills, and countless opportunities. Most importantly, Cristo Rey provided me with the support and preparation necessary to continue my education after high school. It prepared me for my future, which is a privilege not every high school student has.
Every student deserves to experience their Cristo Rey. Every young person deserves a quality education, opportunities, and support that help them grow and reach their full potential. I recognize that I was very fortunate to attend a school that has played such an important role in who I am today.
