Incluso, en una ocasión, me dirigí a unas niñas de esa escuela para platicarles de algo y estaban tan marcadas, que al verme acercarme salieron corriendo. Pensaron que yo vendía algo malo… Y es que muy cerca de la escuela en la que estaban mis nietecitos hay otra escuela y ahí hay mucha droga. Ese es un peligro muy grande. Hoy dia noto la gran diferencia entre dónde estaban anteriormente y esta escuela. Ahora salen tan felices, tan contentos.
Esta beca ha significado una oportunidad para su porvenir muy grande. Es una oportunidad para crecer intelectualmente y como personas: tener la confianza en sí mismos y confianza en los demás.
Este era el apoyo que necesitamos -y que realmente nos interesa- a fin de que nuestros niños salgan adelante en su educación y en su formación como seres humanos.

It is a precious thing to see the love of reading that my grandchildren have developed and the great support they have received to advance their education. It is a joy to see how much they like to spend time with their classmates, because before they were not so open. In this private school, they have found a lot of fulfillment. That is why I am very grateful for this opportunity, mainly for the education, the development, and the safety of my grandchildren.
I have noticed a big difference in their new school versus their old school. The public school where they went was very dangerous. When they would come out of school, they would come out scared. I definitely notice a big difference between where they were previously and this school. Now, they come out of school so happy.
This scholarship has meant an opportunity for my grandchildren’s future. It is an opportunity to grow intellectually and as people. They can gain self-confidence and trust in others.
