PROGRAM — Nevada Opportunity Scholarship

My name is Josiah Morales and I am 10 years old. I am in fifth grade at Mountain View Christian School. I have four siblings. Three brothers and one sister. My oldest brother is getting engaged so I am going to have a sister-in-law soon.

I like my school because there is not much bullying and you get more opportunities than at public school. I’m happy to be here because it’s not too big of a school, but not too little. You can talk with your friends more. I just feel wanted and liked here.

There are 24 fifth graders in my school and there is one classroom. We move to different classes throughout the day. I like to play sports, basketball, football, volleyball and soccer.

My favorite subjects in school are science, math and history. But I also like mostly all of them. There’s also an acting class and I like that, I like to study the scripts. I want to be a doctor when I grow up because I really want to help people like in really serious issues and it’s higher education and you make good money, so might as well.

“I just feel wanted and liked here.”

I have a scholarship to attend school and it helps my family. My mom was going to put me in a public school, but right before school started, MVCS accepted me. I’m glad I got to came back this year because I’m back with my friends. It’s hard to make new friends when your friends leave you.

I think people should get scholarships because they should have a choice to pick their school; they shouldn’t just be forced to go wherever they have to go depending on where they live.
