My name is Jade and I enjoy drawing, singing, painting, and crocheting. I sing in my school choir and I am on the cheerleading team. I enjoy learning about history and biology. I also enjoy spending time with my pets and caring for them. In the future, I would like to pursue a career as a cardiothoracic surgeon or a lawyer.
My family chose to send me to this school because I wanted to get a better education, which I knew I wouldn’t achieve if I stayed at my old school. The top three things that I like about SMIS are the different activities that are available to me, my teachers who always try to lend a hand when I need assistance, and my academic advisors who help prepare us for college. Each of these is important because they help me prepare for my college career.
Receiving a scholarship has made a difference in my life because it has given me the opportunity to go to SMIS, which I would otherwise not be able to attend.

I believe more families should have the same privilege I’ve had in exercising school choice and receiving a scholarship because not all families have the money to pay for school and to pay for all the things that are needed to attend SMIS. SMIS is a good school because you get many different great opportunities.To me, school choice means the opportunity to achieve my educational goals and attend a good school without having to worry about the money.
