My son is a very bright, energetic, atypical child. He struggles with the traditional style of education and easily gets lost or frustrated. Due to motor skill delays and social delays, it’s very difficult to keep up with his peers and be recognized for his incredible strengths.
I chose this school for my son because they have been exceptional at recognizing my son for his strengths and creating individual plans to assist him in his weaknesses. They seek out ways to keep his interest and teach in a manner that drives him. They know my son and adjust their teaching to meet those needs. The curriculum is wide-ranged and meets my son at each level he is on, creating stimulation when necessary, and patience for each subject when needed. They make time to not only teach the curriculum but also to teach behavioral responses and peer-related lessons, setting my son up for success in the long run.

The difference school choice has made for my son and family is that the stress of an atmosphere where he cannot thrive is gone. I absolutely believe more families should have the same privilege. I would like parents to know it is easy for atypical kids to get lost in the traditional school system and it should not be a traumatic experience to put that child in a position to succeed. Having the ability to find an educational system that can meet the needs of each child not only helps the child become a successful child/teen/adult but also helps the family unit become stronger.
School choice means that my son knows he can thrive, he can make friends, and he doesn’t have to be stressed about learning. This has changed the dynamic of our family now that there is fewer daily meltdowns and frustrations. It has been a wonderful experience and my son now looks forward to going to school.
