Ramona Carrasco’s daughter, Byanca, is a fourth grader at Pleasant View Baptist School.
My daughter Byanca is nine years old and was born with down syndrome. Byanca is very smart. Unfortunately, in her public school, she wasn’t challenged enough academically. And at recess she often played by herself. That broke my heart.
School choice has been a blessing for Byanca and our family. Now at a private school, she is learning a lot. She is being challenged and pushed to do better. And, what I love most, is that Byanca plays with friends!
We have gone from feeling helpless to knowing that Byanca is learning with kids her age. She learns more from them and her teachers each day. We are so grateful for school choice and to the ESA program for making this possible.
