As the Tennessee Field Director for the American Federation for Children, Jann Dower works to expand educational opportunities for children in Tennessee by advocating for policies that support school choice options.

Prior to joining AFC-TN, Jann served in multiple roles in  state government, most recently serving as the Director of Constituent Services and Legislative Liaison. Jann is passionate about serving her community and is a member of the Junior League of Nashville.  During her tenure, she served multiple committees including her service as Chair of Advocacy & Public Awareness. Jann’s committee partnered with the Read 20 Book Patrol, an initiative launched by TN First Lady Crissy Haslam which sought to provide books to Tennessee children and build relationships with law enforcement. Jann assisted in planning book drives for Read20 and joined the First Lady to distribute books at community centers.

Jann was born and raised in East Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee (Go Vols).
