Speaker Boehner to give keynote address at DC National School Choice Week Celebration – Jan. 28

Washington, D.C. (Jan. 26, 2015) – Speaker John Boehner will deliver the keynote address during the School Choice Week Celebration on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The morning event will feature more than 250 students, parents, advocates and partners expressing their support for educational choice in the District of Columbia and across the country.
“School choice isn’t just an alternative – it’s the answer to the broken status quo that deprives too many of our kids a decent education,” said Speaker Boehner. “It will be my honor to join with students and parents to celebrate National School Choice Week.”
Congressman Luke Messer, chairman of the Congressional School Choice Caucus, will serve as master of ceremonies at this year’s celebration.
“We are thrilled to celebrate National School Choice Week with such a strong coalition of Congressional members,” added Messer. “School choice is changing lives in the District and across the country, and we welcome the opportunity to celebrate these successes and work to bring educational opportunity to even more students.”
