AFC Praises Secretary DeVos for Reinforcing Commitment to School Choice
At the American Federation for Children’s 8th annual National Policy Summit, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos addressed the 400 attendees and reinforced the Administration’s commitment to expanding school choice across the country.
Statement from Bill Oberndorf, Chairman of the American Federation for Children:
“We were delighted to have Secretary DeVos address the students, parents, educators, grassroots activists, policymakers, and friends at our National Policy Summit in Indianapolis. Our organization has fought tirelessly on the front lines to give more children opportunities in education, and our Summit each year is a wonderful event to showcase our successes and hear from students whose lives have changed due to school choice.
“We were pleased to see Sec. DeVos reinforce the Administration’s support for expanding parental choice in education. Millions of families are currently benefiting from choice programs, and millions more stand to benefit from having further educational options for their child. We look forward to more details about the school choice proposals and, ultimately, hope to see a federal education tax credit included in broader tax reform later this year.”
