School Choice Supporters Advance in Nebraska Legislative Races

The American Federation for Children, the nation’s voice for educational choice, congratulates the following successful candidates supported by the Nebraska Federation for Children PAC on their advancement to the general election: Russ Barger, Rick Holdcroft, Christian Mirch, and Merv Riepe.  The Nebraska Federation for Children PAC supports candidates who will fight for parents’ rights to choose the best educational options for their children.

“The primary election results show, when given the option, Nebraskans choose legislative candidates who believe in empowering parents and giving children freedom in educational choice.
“Nebraska is one of only two states without school choice options, but with the successful advancement of these candidates to the general election, we are one step closer to making school choice a reality for Nebraska families.”

Clarice Jackson, a longtime leader and champion for school choice, is currently trailing by less than 70 votes in a three-way race. With more than 10,000 votes still uncounted in Douglas County, the outcome may not be determined until later this week.
