School Choice at the White House

In case you missed it, watch yesterday morning’s segment on Fox & Friends featuring the American Federation for Children’s Walter Blanks.

Speaking in favor of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’s Education Freedom Scholarships proposal in Congress, Walter said that it’s “ultimately going to be another vehicle, another opportunity for more kids to have the same opportunities that I had, which is what it’s all about.

“And that’s why I’m so passionate about this movement, is because I know what it’s like first-hand to be in a school that is failing me, and where I’m not learning. And I’m just stuck. Where I’m just begging my mom every single day, ‘Please, don’t send me back.’ And there’s still kids like that. And so I’m very passionate about this.”

After sitting next to the President Monday to tell his school choice story and advocate on behalf of millions of other students, Walter reinforced his message that he is “going to continue to fight for those kids who are still stuck in those schools.”
