Parental Choice Champion Mike Bousselot Wins Iowa Special Election

The American Federation for Children, the nation’s voice for educational choice, congratulates Mike Bousselot for winning the special election for Iowa House District 37. Because of his strong commitment to providing parents with a greater say in their child’s education,  the American Federation for Children Action Fund supported Mike Bousselot through independent expenditures on his behalf. Bousselot’s impressive performance over the well-funded Democratic candidate indicates the strong desire for education freedom.
A veteran of both the Branstad and Reynolds administrations, Bousselot supported efforts by both Governors to increase educational options in Iowa.
Statement from Elisa Clements, Chief Operating Officer, American Federation for Children:
“Mike Bousselot’s victory in this heavily contested special election is one more sign that Iowa families want the best education possible for their children. Across the entire country, there is a surge in support for school choice and Iowa is no different. We are very excited to see what Bousselot and other prominent leaders in Iowa will do on behalf of students and families.”
