OPINION: A 15-Year-Old's View on Education Reform
From Faith, Hope and Politics:
The problem with our schools today is that they are no longer focused on the student. Due to the over sized classrooms it is impossible for each student to get the personal attention and education they need to succeed.
I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to receive a good education. And I also believe that good education should not break the bank. It is unacceptable that children are denied a decent education because their parents are unable to afford the hefty fee for a private school. Parents should have multiple options, no child is the same, and therefore no education should be the same. Students are no longer given a personalized education because their classrooms are packed full with more than 25 students.
The best solution to this issue is Vouchers. Vouchers are a credit that allows parents the ability to provide their child with the best education possible. With vouchers, no longer can parents complain that their child is being left behind due to lack of funds. Vouchers give freedom to families so that their children can receive an education that suits their needs best. When families are given choices their children are given more opportunities to succeed.
