School Choice Champion Frank Riggs Beats Incumbent in Arizona Superintendent Primary
The American Federation for Children (AFC) congratulates school choice champion Frank Riggs on his victory over incumbent Diane Douglas in the Republican primary election for Arizona State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Statement from John Schilling, President of the American Federation for Children:
“Frank Riggs has earned the respect of many Arizona parents for his support for charter schools, his stance on empowering families with school choice, and his commitment to putting teachers and students first. Riggs believes all children deserve a great education regardless of income or ZIP code. He has the potential to help all Arizona families by transforming education in Arizona to meet their needs. He promises to bring badly needed transparency into the Arizona Department of Education, direct more money into classrooms, and make the department accountable to parents and taxpayers.”
The American Federation for Children, the nation’s voice for educational choice, works to ensure every child has an equal opportunity to obtain a quality education. We believe in higher pay for teachers, proper school funding and more school choice opportunities for Arizona families and we support candidates who share our mission.
