DeVos & Hess to Discuss Educational Choice, Innovation and Revolutionizing America's Educational Future

“Competition, Creativity & Choice in the Classroom” panel to be held at 2015 State Policy Network Annual Meeting

Betsy DeVos, chairman of American Federation for Children, the nation’s voice for educational choice, and Rick Hess, Resident Scholar and Director of Education Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute, will discuss how educational choice is the pathway to innovating our nation’s antiquated education system during the 2015 State Policy Network Annual Meeting.

The panel, “Competition, Creativity & Choice in the Classroom,” is on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 9:45 – 11 a.m. in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Amway Grand Hotel’s Imperial Ballroom.

“Our education system is failing too many students, and now more than ever we need to challenge the status quo and develop real solutions to the education crisis in our country,” said DeVos. “I would like to thank Rick Hess for participating in this discussion with me, and for helping to open a dialogue on how we can truly innovate and shape education to empower parents, serve students and give them the best opportunity to succeed.”

The conversation will focus on the future of education in this country, and how educational choice breaks open a closed system so all children have access to high-quality education.

American Federation for Children is the nation’s leading school choice advocacy organization and works in states across the country to help secure additional, high-quality educational options for families.
