DeVos Hearing Moved to Jan. 17

Good morning,
This is a classic “making the sausage” story, Betsy DeVos’ hearing was moved to Jan. 17, this is simply part of the process.
As part of a bipartisan agreement, Ms. DeVos’ hearing was moved to accommodate the Senate schedule. We applaud Chairman Alexander and the leadership of the U.S. Senate as they protect the continuity of government.
Betsy turned in her paperwork to the Office Government Ethics (OGE) nearly a month ago, she turned in her paperwork to the Senate a day early. She’s ready to have a conversation about making education better any day of the week, whether it is tomorrow or this coming Tuesday.
It’s shameful that Democrats continue to play partisan politics with hollow attempts to disrupt what’s always been a bipartisan process.
Chairman Lamar Alexander announced her committee vote is scheduled for Jan. 24 allowing for Betsy’s nomination to reach the full Senate within the first week of the new administration.
