Alliance for School Choice Announces Half Million Dollar Media Buy
“Educational Choice Now” PSA timed to air during National School Choice Week
Washington, D.C. (Jan. 27, 2015) – The Alliance for School Choice (ASC), the nation’s voice for educational choice, announced that the “Educational Choice Now” PSA will air nationwide during National School Choice Week. The buy, valued at a half million dollars, will be aired on cable, network and digital outlets throughout the week.
“Every day, too many children are trapped in a school that does not work for their needs, but school choice empowers parents and provides needed alternatives for millions of children nationwide,” said Kevin P. Chavous, executive counsel of ASC. “We’re proud to partner with National School Choice Week to share this powerful PSA with a national audience, because every child, no matter their families income, no matter their race, no matter their ZIP code deserves a quality education, no matter what.”
Part of the American Federation for Children’s “Champions for Choice” initiative, the PSA features former WNBA player and Olympic gold-medal winner Lisa Leslie, former NBA player and ABC/ESPN analyst Jalen Rose, Deion Sanders, Kathie Lee Gifford, Lou Gossett, Jr., Vivica Fox, Stephen A. Smith, Keshia Knight Pulliam, “Mary Mary,” Janet Evans, Theotis Beasley, Mary Millben, Laila Ali and Garcelle Beauvais, all advocating for educational choice and more options for our nation’s children.
“This year, National School Choice Week is bigger, bolder and larger than ever with more than 11,000 events across the country celebrating choice and parent empowerment,” added Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “The Champions for Choice initiative has brought continued awareness to this important issue and we are looking forward to seeing the PSA as we travel across the country.”
The spots will run on national cable news, local broadcast stations, and via spot cable with an emphasis on the following markets: Raleigh, Nashville, Tallahassee, Columbus, Columbia, Montgomery, Madison, Reno, and Washington DC.
