AFC Statement on Georgia Gubernatorial Primary Runoff
Tonight, Georgia voters selected Brian Kemp to be the Republican nominee in Georgia’s gubernatorial race. The American Federation for Children Action Fund – Georgia PAC (AFCAF-GA PAC) released the following statement.
Statement from John Schilling, President of American Federation of Children:
“The American Federation for Children Action Fund – Georgia PAC (AFCAF-GA PAC) congratulates Brian Kemp on his victory in the Republican gubernatorial runoff election tonight. AFCAF-GA PAC is pleased to endorse Kemp in the general election. Kemp has made it clear that he stands with the families of Georgia who are seeking more and better educational options for their children. His opponent in November, Stacey Abrams, has opposed educational options that give hope to thousands of Georgia families and students. While Brian Kemp was calling for the doubling of the state’s tax credit scholarship program, Abrams stated she would work to repeal it–taking away scholarships from 14,000 children who found hope in a better educational environment. AFCAF-GA PAC also applauds Kemp’s strong support for Georgia’s public charter schools. Our organization stands shoulder-to-shoulder with families across the state who like their school of choice and want to keep their school of choice by giving our full support to Brian Kemp.”
