AFC Praises StudentsFirst Success & Merger with 50CAN
The American Federation for Children, the nation’s voice for educational choice, issued the following statement in response to news of StudentsFirst merging with 50CAN.
Betsy DeVos, chairman of the American Federation for Children:
“Since its founding in 2010, StudentsFirst has engaged in effective advocacy across the country to offer hope and quality educational opportunities for students trapped in schools that fail to meet their learning needs. We at AFC have been proud to partner with them in that effort. The new partnership and merger between StudentsFirst and the 50CAN organization builds upon years of success from two organizations we proudly call partners in our mutual efforts to advocate for students and parents. On behalf of AFC and the students and parents for whom we champion nationwide, I want to applaud our friend and ally Jim Blew for his visionary leadership. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Jim and the 50CAN-StudentsFirst team as we revolutionize our nation’s antiquated education system and build an even stronger coalition to empower every child to reach their full potential.”
