AFC Congratulates Arizona School Choice Champions on Primary Wins
The American Federation for Children, the nation’s voice for educational choice, congratulates all the Arizona candidates supported by the American Federation for Children Action Fund Arizona PAC during Tuesday’s primary election. The AFC-AF AZ PAC invested more than $255,000 in state races to support school choice proponents during the 2022 primary.
Arizona’s 2022 legislative session saw one of the most significant school choice victories of the last several years, with the passage of the nation’s largest universal Education Savings Account program. Because of the leadership of Governor Doug Ducey and other school choice champions in the Arizona House and Senate, every Arizona student now has access to approximately $7,000 in state funds to design their education of choice. Although the race is too close to call at the time of this press release, AFC also congratulates both Kari Lake and Karrin Taylor Robson in the race for their party’s gubernatorial nomination. Both candidates vocally supported education freedom during the primary. Statement from Steve Smith, State Director, American Federation for Children-Arizona: “Arizona families spoke loudly Tuesday night by selecting even more advocates of education freedom to represent them in the Arizona State Legislature. On the heels of this year’s historic school choice victory that allows every K-12 parent in Arizona to choose the best education option for their child, we know there is still more work to be done. So, it is more important than ever that parents know they have elected officials working for them, not the status quo.” Details: The following successful candidates were supported by the American Federation for Children Action Fund Arizona PAC:- John Kavanagh – SD 3
