AFC & ASC Congratulate Jim Blew, newly-appointed president of StudentsFirst

Washington, D.C. (Oct. 8, 2014) – The American Federation for Children and the Alliance for School Choice congratulates former Walton Family Foundation adviser Jim Blew, following the announcement by StudentsFirst that he will assume the role of President of its organization.
“Jim’s leadership, vision and solution-oriented strategies have helped countless disadvantaged children gain access to a quality education through educational choice,” said Betsy DeVos, chairman of the American Federation for Children and Alliance for School Choice. “We are a grateful for Jim’s many years of wise counsel, and we look forward to working with him in his new capacity as we continue to work closely with StudentsFirst to help children trapped in underperforming schools. I also want to express our appreciation for the principled leadership of Michelle Rhee, who has been a tremendous advocate for parents and children and who remains a strong voice for commonsense education reform.”
Throughout his many years of work with the Walton family, Jim has been an important and trusted advisor to Federation and Alliance as they have worked to advance parental choice across the country.
